Main Purpose of the Role
The primary responsibility of the lecturer is to teach the subject “Introduction to Psychology” as part of the Bachelor of Arts program at the Salt River Campus in Cape Town. The role involves not only delivering lectures but also designing effective course content and facilitating engaging discussions. The lecturer will conduct practical sessions that support students in understanding key concepts, thereby enriching their academic learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Instruction
- Deliver lectures, workshops, and tutorials to foster academic growth.
- Design and regularly update course content, curriculum, and instructional materials to ensure relevance.

Student Support and Mentorship

- Maintain availability during consultation hours and respond promptly to student inquiries.
Curriculum Development
- Take part in planning, reviewing, and enhancing academic programs and courses.
- Ensure that the course content reflects the most recent developments in the field and meets accreditation standards.

Requirements
- A Master’s qualification (NQF Level 9) in Psychology is required.
- Counseling registration is mandatory.
- Prior experience in lecturing, both in-person and online, will be advantageous.
