AECI is seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Sales Representative to join their team in Cape Town. This position involves managing a diverse portfolio of specialty and commodity raw materials, servicing key markets including Personal Care, Homecare, Pharmaceutical, Agricultural, and Industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management: Oversee a range of products, ensuring strategic alignment with the needs of the Personal Care, Homecare, Pharmaceutical, Agricultural, and Industrial markets.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Develop forecasts and budgets for each customer, working to achieve year-on-year growth in volume, revenue, and margins.
  • Customer Base Growth: Expand and maintain a growing customer base, enhancing both sales volume and profitability.
  • Key Account Management: Handle key accounts and ensure strong, lasting relationships with customers.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed on industry trends and shifts, particularly in the Personal Care and Homecare sectors, and incorporate these insights into the business strategy.
  • Product Promotion: Actively promote company products, fostering brand image and market presence.
  • Sales & Technical Support: Work alongside Product and Technical managers to drive new business development and offer technical presentations to clients.
  • CRM System Maintenance: Ensure that all customer data, including visit reports and account details, are regularly updated in the CRM system.
  • Negotiation & Pricing: Conduct price negotiations with senior-level stakeholders to secure favorable terms for the company and its clients.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments such as customer care, finance, and technical teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Stock Management: Work with relevant teams to manage inventory requirements based on customer demands.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Intervene when necessary to resolve issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Education: Matric / Grade 12.
  • Relevant Qualification: A Diploma or Degree in Chemistry is required, alongside a minimum of 8 years of Key Account Management experience within the chemical industry.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on commercial experience in a sales environment, and a minimum of 3 years of technical experience in a relevant technical setting.
  • Software Proficiency: A minimum of 3 years of SAP experience is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: 5 years of experience within the personal care, homecare, food, or chemical industries is an advantage.
  • Skills: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
