Airlink is offering exciting opportunities for young individuals and graduates to gain hands-on experience through their On-the-Job Training (OJT), Apprenticeship, and Learnership programs. These programs aim to provide valuable industry experience, with roles spanning a variety of disciplines, including aviation, engineering, and administration. Below are the details of the available opportunities:

Apprenticeship (On-the-Job Training)

The Apprenticeship program offers an exciting chance to assist in the maintenance of a fleet of modern turbine-powered aircraft. As an apprentice, candidates will work across all disciplines, progressing through the On-the-Job Training (OJT) program, which focuses on developing essential skills within the aviation maintenance field.

Requirements:

  • Completion of 35 weeks of theoretical training at a reputable academy, focusing on basic theory and practical training in either mechanical, avionic, or another relevant trade.
  • A minimum pass mark of 75% in the completed training.
  • Grade 12/Matric certificate or an equivalent qualification, with at least 65% in pure Mathematics and a Science subject.
  • Hands-on experience within the Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO) or Engineering environment, specifically in maintenance on live aircraft.

Apprenticeship (First Year)

For individuals looking to pursue an apprenticeship in their first year, this role focuses on basic training at an approved facility, where candidates will gain foundational skills in their chosen trade.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Grade 12 Matric certificate, with at least 65% in pure Mathematics and a Science subject.
  • An engineering or aircraft-related qualification.
  • Candidates must be unemployed and willing to commit to a three-year apprenticeship program.

Learnership

The Learnership program is designed for individuals seeking to gain experience in administration while working within the aviation industry. Learners will assist with day-to-day operations in their designated division, gaining vital workplace exposure.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent qualification.
  • Candidates must be unemployed and studying toward a qualification that requires workplace experience for graduation.
  • Preferred course fields include, but are not limited to, Travel and Tourism, Human Resources, Office Administration, or Business Management.
  • A strong desire to work in the aviation industry is essential.
