The Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government, is seeking a dedicated individual for the position of Human Resource Clerk: Service Conditions (Leave Administration). This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and administer the service benefits of employees within the Western Cape Government (WCG).
Job Purpose
The selected candidate will be responsible for handling various service benefits of WCG employees, with a primary focus on leave administration. This includes overseeing leave audits, leave payments, and capturing leave data, as well as managing Pilir Administration and other ad hoc duties. The role also requires updating relevant databases, liaising with the call centre, CRU managers, and other departments, and drafting formal correspondence, such as memorandums and emails.
Key Responsibilities
- Leave Administration: Administer leave benefits, including leave audits, payments, and data entry.
- Pilir Administration: Manage Pilir (Personal Injury Leave) processes.
- Communication & Correspondence: Draft official letters, emails, and memorandums.
- Database Management: Ensure accurate updating of service condition and benefit records.
- Liaison: Engage with call centre personnel, CRU managers, and other departments to facilitate smooth operations.
Minimum Requirements
- A Grade 12 certificate (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).
- Relevant experience in human resource management will be beneficial.
- A PERSAL Introduction certificate is recommended.

Remuneration
The position offers an annual salary of R 216,417 (Salary Level 5). Additional service benefits such as medical assistance, housing assistance, and pension fund contributions are provided according to the relevant collective agreements or prescripts for qualifying employees.
