Key Responsibilities:

Cash Management & Bank Reconciliation

• Manage the cash management and bank reconciliation sub-section, ensuring all cashbooks and bank accounts are accurate, up-to-date, and reconciled.
• Plan and oversee investments and cash flow processes to meet internal and external reporting requirements.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Ensure the accurate reconciliation of expenditure accounts and monitor special payments, land guarantees, forex, and travel cards.
• Transfer funds between the City’s accounts to meet internal cash requirements.
• Analyse deviations in cash management reports and provide thorough investigations and reports to the Senior Manager Cash Management.
• Oversee that financial administration adheres to internal control, governance standards, and compliance.

Auditing & Financial Accountability

• Organise the sub-section to maintain the infrastructure for producing accurate and timely financial accountability reports.
• Attend to auditor’s information requests and queries related to the cash management sub-section.
• Compile financial summaries and reports for the Senior Manager Cash Management.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

• Accounting degree or a relevant NQF Level 7 qualification.
• MFMA Certification is a must.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar financial role, ideally in the public sector.
