Position Summary
We seek a qualified Mechanical Fitter to maintain industrial equipment, implement safety protocols, and contribute to operational excellence at our Secunda facility.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Safety
- Operate/maintain mechanical systems per manufacturer specifications
- Execute risk assessments and emergency procedures
- Maintain safety compliance through IMS/MBO protocols
- Ensure proper waste management and worksite organization
Technical Expertise
- Diagnose equipment failures using maintenance documentation
- Provide accurate repair history for system improvements
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems using problem-solving methods
Team Collaboration
- Lead daily team briefings and safety discussions
- Mentor junior technicians and apprentices
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations
- Coordinate with planning teams for work prioritization
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) or N3 equivalent
- Red Seal Certification in Mechanical Fitting
- 4+ years industrial maintenance experience
- Proficient in work management systems and technical documentation
Professional Development
