Position Details

Location: Free State
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: 2+ years supervisory experience
Department: Safety, Security & Environment

Core Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:
1. Manage aerodrome rescue operations complying with ICAO/SACAA standards
2. Oversee maintenance of firefighting vehicles and equipment
3. Implement emergency response protocols and incident command systems

Compliance & Safety:
4. Ensure adherence to health/safety/environmental regulations
5. Conduct risk assessments and hazard mitigation strategies
6. Maintain emergency preparedness through regular drills

Team Management:
7. Lead 24/7 fire rescue team operations
8. Develop staff through coaching and performance management
9. Coordinate cross-departmental emergency response plans

Essential Requirements

Education:
– Grade 12 Certificate (Mandatory)
– NQF 5 Fire & Rescue Certification (Required)
– Fire Fighter Level 2 & First Aid Level 3

Experience:
– 4+ years firefighting operations experience
– 2+ years in supervisory role
– Valid Code 11/14 Driver’s License

Skills:
– Proficient in MS Office Suite
– Strong emergency command capabilities
– Excellent communication and leadership skills
