Key Responsibilities:

As the Assistant Store Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the store consistently meets and exceeds sales targets and customer service goals. You will work closely with the store management team and staff to ensure smooth daily operations and create a high-performance environment.

  • Team Leadership: You will help lead a high-performing team, providing coaching and accountability to drive sales, productivity, and overall store performance.
  • Sales Generation and Operational Excellence: Your role will focus on driving sales, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high store standards. You will manage sales targets and implement strategies to meet or exceed them.
  • Customer Service Focus: You will create a customer-centric environment, ensuring that both customers and co-workers experience friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable service.
  • Store Presentation and Standards: It will be your responsibility to ensure that the store presentation meets Timberland’s high standards, contributing to a positive shopping experience.
  • Human Resources and Loss Prevention: You will handle human resources issues, manage scheduling, and assist with loss prevention at the store level, working closely with HQ to ensure smooth operations.
  • Store Opening/Closing: You will assist in opening and closing the store efficiently while maintaining security and operational effectiveness.
  • Additional Managerial Duties: You may be required to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support store management and staff.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a retail management role is required.
  • Customer Service Excellence: A strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Leadership Skills: You should possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and numeracy skills, which are essential for leading and managing a team.
  • Adaptability: The ability to quickly respond to changing business needs and adapt to new challenges.
  • Attention to Detail: A detail-oriented approach to ensuring tasks and processes are executed thoroughly.
  • Computer Literacy: Knowledge of retail computer systems and general computer proficiency is necessary.
  • Bilingual: While fluency in English is required, being bilingual is a significant advantage.
