Job Summary
The apprenticeship is designed to develop skilled earthmoving mechanics who can meet industry requirements and support Babcock’s pipeline of qualified workers.
Minimum Education & Qualifications
- Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Science (minimum 50% pass).
- N2 Certificate from a TVET or FET college covering:
- Mathematics
- Diesel Trade Theory
- Engineering Drawings
- Engineering Science
- Experience in a vehicle maintenance environment is an advantage.
- Willingness to complete both theoretical and practical components of the learnership within the specified timeframe.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist artisans with repairs and servicing of earthmoving equipment.
- Support workshop activities and respond to breakdowns in the field.
- Promote and uphold a strong safety culture.
- Follow reasonable instructions from team leaders.
- Travel to various sites across South Africa as required.
