The eThekwini Municipality is offering a permanent opportunity for a dedicated Supervisor in the Customer Care sector, within the Western Area region. This role will see you overseeing the Regional Customer Care Centre to ensure that all customers seeking assistance are treated with the utmost respect, in line with the Batho Pele principles. As a Supervisor, your efforts will ensure smooth operations at the customer care centre and contribute to effective and efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the general operation of the customer care centre, ensuring all customer needs are met efficiently, including applications, complaints, and general inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with the Batho Pele principles and help customers access a wide range of municipal services.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and manage day-to-day staff performance to maintain high-quality service standards.
- Safeguard all assets and equipment within the customer care centre.
- Support the Senior Customer Care Officer with the preparation of departmental budgets, attend meetings, and collaborate with other departments to resolve customer issues.

- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in technology and the ability to apply it to improve customer service.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to maintain positive customer relations.
- A resilient attitude towards overcoming challenges and ensuring service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) with an Administrative Certificate.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in customer service or a similar role.
- Computer literacy and valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Administration or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in a customer service or supervisory capacity.
Benefits:
- Housing subsidy, leave, medical aid, pension fund, and a 13th cheque.
Salary:
R276,454.32 – R358,839.60 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
