Role Overview:
The Core Support Specialist will be responsible for managing and coordinating high-level support for Cell C’s Core Network equipment. This role requires providing second-line support and performing regular maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and maximum availability of the Core network. With your expertise in system management, you will play a key role in troubleshooting network issues and maintaining a seamless network experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support & Maintenance: Provide second-line support for Cell C’s core network equipment, utilizing expert knowledge to ensure maximum availability and stability.
- Protocols & Architecture Expertise: Use your deep understanding of network protocols such as SS7, TCP/IP, SIP, Diameter, GTP C/U, IMS, and more to handle network and signaling tasks.
- System Engineering: Provide technical assistance to integrate Radio Access Networks (RAN) and Business Support Systems (BSS).
- Performance Monitoring & Fault Management: Conduct on-demand analysis of core network issues, including performance degradation and customer complaints, and resolve them within the designated time frames.
- Configuration & Preventive Maintenance: Oversee the execution of software updates, manage hardware and software maintenance, and ensure data integrity of network systems and configurations.
- Fault Resolution & Escalation: Organize network backups, troubleshoot network faults, and escalate unresolved issues to the next level of technical support in a timely manner.
- Reporting & Documentation: Compile and maintain accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on core network performance, ensuring documentation integrity.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Educational Qualification: A University Degree in Engineering or a B-Tech Degree in a related field, along with extensive industry experience.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Core Network support, specifically with knowledge of supplier equipment and a strong understanding of the configuration, operation, and maintenance of core network systems.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in network protocols, mobile network interfaces, and understanding of IMS systems like WiFi Calling and VoLTE, as well as cloud technologies and NFV infrastructure.
- Operational Excellence: A proven track record in managing core network maintenance, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring performance targets are met.
