The City of Johannesburg is looking for an experienced and strategic individual to join the Private Office of the City Manager. The Special Advisor Projects: Strategy Coordination and Implementation position offers a remarkable opportunity to lead the implementation of the City’s Growth and Development Strategy 2040, contributing to key strategic initiatives and driving development across the City.

Remuneration: R1 729 940.40 per annum (cost to company, all-inclusive)

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric/Grade 12
  • Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Management, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, or related fields at NQF Level 7
  • Certificate in Management Development for Municipal Finance (CPMD) is an advantage
  • 10 years’ experience in planning, formulation, execution, coordination, performance monitoring, and evaluation, with 5 years at a senior management level and 3 years at middle management level
  • Proficiency in strategic and organizational management, governance, and project management

Primary Function

Provide expert executive-level support for the coordination and implementation of strategic initiatives, specifically the Growth and Development Strategy 2040. This role involves formulating and reviewing business strategies, leading projects, driving innovation in service delivery, and providing advisory support to senior leadership to ensure alignment with the City’s developmental objectives.
