Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Grade 12 – Matric
  • Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
  • Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
  • Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  • BHF registration for nursing practitioners
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • At least 5 years of practice as a Primary Health Care Sister
  • Familiarity with Patient Record System & CKS & Allegra

Job Description

The **Clinic Sister** will have diverse responsibilities that include:

  • Performing Clinic Sister duties according to **industry regulations** and best practices.
  • Managing patient footfall and setting clinic objectives to enhance service delivery.
  • Ensuring all clinic services are readily available for patients.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring effective follow-up communication.
  • Keeping the clinic operational during designated hours.
  • Processing claims accurately and within timelines.
  • Ensuring that stock and equipment in the clinic are operational and adequately supplied.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, including patients, medical aids, suppliers, and community members

Competencies Required

Essential Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, family planning, emergency care, and HIV/AIDS counseling.
  • Commitment to **quarterly CPD training** and in-service training with Dis-Chem.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and oral.
  • Understanding the financial implications of meeting or not meeting set monthly targets.
  • Proficient analytical skills for monitoring monthly clinic statistics and commissions.
  • High emotional intelligence with entrepreneurial flair; trustworthy and honest.
  • Ability to manage both the team and oneself, with exceptional self-motivation.
  • Strong time management skills.

Advantageous Skills:

  • Bilingual capabilities.
  • Understanding of the business objectives related to healthcare.
  • Certification in Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management courses.

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
