Position Overview:
The City of Cape Town seeks an experienced professional to coordinate spatial data services within our Electricity Generation & Distribution Department. This role requires strategic leadership in geospatial data management for electrical infrastructure systems.
Essential Requirements:
- • BSc/BTech in GIS, Geomatics, Electrical Engineering or related field
- • Professional registration with SAGC or ECSA
- • 8+ years GIS experience (5+ in management)
- • Proven expertise in electrical utility systems mapping
- • Strong leadership and communication skills
- • Advanced problem-solving capabilities
Core Responsibilities:
- • Develop strategic plans for geospatial data management
- • Oversee accurate capture/maintenance of electrical infrastructure data
- • Coordinate design standards for power distribution projects
- • Manage wayleave acquisitions and land administration
- • Integrate technical designs for engineering projects
- • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration
