Delivery Driver: Code 10 (Cape Town, Airport Industria)

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to safely operate a delivery truck, ensure timely and accurate deliveries, maintain effective communication, and adhere to safety and compliance standards while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the truck is roadworthy and maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Communicate clearly and politely with customers, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance needs promptly and follow company procedures.
  • Follow all company policies and safety guidelines, including traffic laws and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Keep the truck clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary equipment and documents.
  • Participate in meetings, coaching, and training to support team goals and overall safety compliance.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the FMCG retail industry.

Competencies Required

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
  • Friendly, helpful, and confident with excellent teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent communication in English (written and verbal).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
