About the Role
The Free State Provincial Treasury seeks a qualified professional to oversee asset management operations in alignment with financial governance standards and public sector regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Financial Management, Accounting, Commerce, or related field with Accounting 3 as a major subject
- 5 years of experience in accounting environment, including 3 years at supervisory/Assistant Director level
- Proven knowledge of:
- Municipal Finance Management Act
- Public Finance Management Act
- Treasury Regulations
- Division of Revenue Act
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain asset/inventory management policies and systems
- Monitor compliance with asset safeguarding procedures across departments
- Oversee financial reporting processes for provincial assets
- Implement transparent asset disposal practices
- Lead capacity-building initiatives for asset management teams
