Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate
- National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 6/7) in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- 4+ years’ experience (including 2 years at Assistant Director level)
- Experience in budget analysis and financial reporting
- Knowledge of municipal financial regulations and budget processes
Core Responsibilities:
Budget Management:
- Coordinate municipal budget processes per MFMA regulations
- Monitor budget compliance and provide feedback
- Support provincial treasuries on budget reforms
Financial Monitoring:
- Track municipal spending and service delivery
- Analyze financial reports and implementation plans
- Prepare reports for national stakeholders
Intergovernmental Coordination:
- Monitor financial data submissions for national publications
- Evaluate grant allocation structures
Stakeholder Relations:
- Guide municipalities on financial reporting
- Promote timely submission of required documents
Key Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of municipal governance frameworks
- Report writing proficiency
- Intergovernmental coordination experience
