Director: Infrastructure Services

Position Type: Permanent Full-Time
Location: Northern Cape, South Africa
Remuneration: R1,123,501.00 package (potential 10% remote allowance)
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years at middle management level (local government preferred)

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or NQF Level 6 equivalent qualification
• Valid driver’s license
• Compliance with Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels (certification within 18 months if new appointee)
• Proven track record in municipal infrastructure planning and service delivery
• Expertise in relevant legislation including Occupational Health & Safety Act
• Strong leadership skills with commitment to transparent governance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Municipal infrastructure grant implementation experience
• Registration with engineering professional body
• Town planning background

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead infrastructure development and spatial planning initiatives
• Manage municipal engineering projects and service delivery systems
• Oversee department budgeting and IDP alignment
• Ensure compliance with municipal regulations and safety standards
• Facilitate intergovernmental cooperation on development projects
