Dis-Chem Seeks Qualified Clinic Practitioner for Primary Health Care Clinic in Pinecrest

Dis-Chem is seeking a Qualified Clinic Practitioner  to join their team in Pinecrest, responsible for managing and operating a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic within the pharmacy. The role requires a dedicated and experienced nursing professional who will work within the scope of practice of a registered nursing practitioner, offering a range of health services to patients.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
• Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• BHF Registration
• 2-3 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Advantageous:

• At least 5 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Experience with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra

Job Description:

As a Clinic Sister at Dis-Chem, you will be responsible for ensuring the clinic is operated efficiently and professionally. Key duties include:

• Providing primary health care services according to industry regulations and best practices.
• Managing clinic operations to improve patient flow and meet set targets, such as the “feet-per-hour” rate.
• Keeping detailed and accurate records of patient interactions and following up on communications.
• Ensuring the clinic is open and functional as per operational hours, processing claims in a timely manner, and managing stock levels and equipment to meet industry standards.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders such as patients, store and dispensary managers, medical aids, suppliers, and community health professionals.

Competencies:

Essential:

• Knowledge in community health nursing, primary health care, family planning, HIV/AIDS counseling, wound care, emergency care, and pharmacology.
• Strong command of the English language (both written and verbal).
• Time management and self-motivation with the ability to manage both yourself and a team.
• Understanding of the financial implications of meeting or missing monthly targets.
• Strong analytical skills to assess clinic statistics and commissions.
• Emotional intelligence with entrepreneurial drive and a high level of integrity.

Advantageous:

• Bilingual
• Specialized courses such as Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management.

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Willingness to work retail hours and stay physically fit to manage the demands of the role.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
• South African citizen with a clear credit and criminal record.
