GrandWest is seeking a dedicated Hotel Driver to provide exceptional transportation services for our guests. The role requires safely transporting guests around the hotel property and to external locations, ensuring their experience is personalized, memorable, and reflects the high standards of our service.

Key Responsibilities:

Workstation Preparedness

• Conduct daily inspections of your vehicle to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and readiness for use.
• Monitor fuel levels, parking areas, and the general Porte cochere area to ensure everything is well-maintained.
• Review the VIP and guest arrival lists to understand special requirements and expectations.
• Stay informed on hotel promotions, facilities, and activities to enhance the guest experience.
• Familiarize yourself with new or unfamiliar destinations that guests will be traveling to.
• Coordinate necessary vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

Transporting Services

• Greet guests with a warm welcome and assist disabled guests when needed.
• Safely drive guests to their destinations, following the hotel’s rules and regulations.
• Plan efficient travel routes and coordinate parking for visiting guests and residents.
• Log transportation details for external destinations and file required documentation.
• Ensure luggage is properly handled and delivered to the hotel or destination.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle damage promptly.

Customer Engagement

• Maintain a professional presence at the Porte cochere at all times.
• Offer a friendly and welcoming service to all guests, ensuring their needs are met.
• Address guest complaints, requests, and suggestions, escalating as needed.
• Educate guests on hotel facilities, rewards programs, and current promotions.
• Assist with answering phone calls at the concierge desk when required.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• Grade 12

Experience:

• Previous driving experience is required.
• Customer service experience is an advantage.
• Public Drivers Permit (PDP) and a valid driver’s license (Code 10) are essential.
• A clean driving record is a must.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Hotel product knowledge (facilities, activities)
• Familiarity with the local area and landmarks
• Basic PC and Opera system skills
• Ability to read directions or use a GPS device
• Excellent communication skills (English, both verbal and written)
• Friendly, presentable demeanor with a strong work ethic
• Problem-solving and teamwork skills
• Patience and the ability to work under pressure

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, drive, and lift luggage when necessary.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as per operational requirements.
