eMedia is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Marketing Intelligence Specialist to join our team in Johannesburg North. This key role is designed for someone with a keen understanding of media consumption patterns, who can analyze data to support the sales team and provide valuable insights that drive success in selling airtime.

Role Overview: As a Marketing Intelligence Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting sales efforts by delivering crucial media consumption data, analyzing industry trends, and preparing go-to-market presentations. Your insights will help shape the strategies behind our media campaigns and support the sales teams in achieving their targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough industry research to gather data on media consumption and trends. Analyze and interpret data using specialist resources to ensure the sales teams have up-to-date, actionable information.
  • Campaign Evaluation: Monitor the effectiveness of ongoing campaigns and provide insights to inform future initiatives. You’ll also track and evaluate competitor activities and ensure our strategies stay ahead of the market.
  • Audience & Market Insights: Identify and analyze target audiences, their behaviors, and media habits, helping the team stay informed of trends that may impact potential revenue streams across different channels.
  • Reporting: Regularly compile and submit reports on research findings to key stakeholders, including the Chief Commercial Officer and Group Head of Sales. Monthly presentations on competitor analysis and eMedia channel performance are also expected.
  • Sales Support: Assist in educating the sales team on industry trends and viewing patterns. This includes preparing presentations, providing research findings, and helping to develop strategies for selling airtime.
  • Client Liaison: Foster and maintain strong relationships with Account Executives and clients/agencies, building trust and respect for your judgment. Attend client meetings, as well as external meetings with key industry partners like BRC, Telmar, and Nielsen.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: A National Diploma in Marketing, Media, Communications, or Research is required.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in media research and planning is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Telmar, and Arianna at a basic level is expected.
  • Language Skills: Advanced English proficiency is required.
  • Additional: A valid driver’s license is recommended.

Work Environment: This is a permanent, skilled-level position with a competitive salary that is market-related. The role is based in Johannesburg North, and is not an Employment Equity (EE) position.
