The Department of Economic Development and Tourism in the Western Cape Government is seeking a Supply Chain Management Officer to oversee asset management processes. Role Overview: Managing Assets for Efficiency and Compliance
As a Supply Chain Management Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the asset register, ensuring proper tracking, verification, and disposal of assets, and providing administrative support for compliance and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Asset Management & Verification – Maintain and update the departmental asset register, allocate barcodes, and ensure proper tracking of assets.
✔ Compliance & Reporting – Monitor and evaluate asset management policies, conduct audits, and reconcile asset allocations.
✔ Procurement & Disposal – Handle acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of redundant or obsolete assets.
✔ Administrative & Governance Support – Provide secretariat services for asset-related committees and assist in annual audits.
✔ Human Resource Functions – Supervise employees, oversee leave and overtime management, and facilitate training and development.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
📌 National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or higher qualification in a relevant field
📌 Minimum 1 year of experience in asset management and administration
📌 Strong knowledge of asset management, procurement policies, and financial regulations (PFMA, National Treasury Regulations)
📌 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
📌 Experience with financial and supply chain management systems (Logis, Syspro, BAS)
Preferred Qualification
✅ NQF Level 7 Qualification (Recognized by SAQA)
