Exciting Opportunity: Cash Management Specialist at the City of Ekurhuleni

The City of Ekurhuleni is looking for an experienced Cash Management Specialist to join their finance team. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to manage and oversee critical cash management and bank reconciliation processes for one of the largest metropolitan municipalities in South Africa. Key Responsibilities:

Functional Planning & Cash Management

• Oversee the cash management and bank reconciliation sub-section to ensure that cashbooks and bank accounts are up-to-date and reconciled.
• Manage investments and cash flow processes in line with reporting requirements.

Expenditure & Financial Administration

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date expenditure account reconciliation.
• Monitor and report on special payments, land guarantees, forex, and travel cards.
• Transfer funds between the City’s bank accounts to ensure internal cash requirements are met.

Reporting & Analysis

• Analyse and investigate deviations on cash management reports, providing detailed insights to the Senior Manager Cash Management.
• Ensure that financial administration processes adhere to internal control and governance standards, reporting any deviations.
• Attend to auditor requests and queries, ensuring compliance with financial accountability practices.
• Compile financial reports and summaries to submit to the Senior Manager.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

• Accounting degree or relevant equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification.
• MFMA Certification is essential.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar financial environment.
