Job Purpose:

As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will apply basic engineering principles to assist in the development of designs, plans, and proposals. Your responsibilities will include preparing contract documentation, monitoring the implementation of minor contracts, and ensuring compliance with specified terms and conditions. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within the public transport sector, contributing to infrastructure development that benefits the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Information and Design Assistance: Provide technical information regarding structural forms and efficiencies for basic engineering works. Assist in the development of engineering designs and proposals at a foundational level.
  • Contract Documentation: Participate in the preparation and collation of contract documentation, ensuring it aligns with necessary standards and requirements.
  • Project Monitoring: Monitor the execution of minor engineering contracts to ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
  • Support in Engineering Tasks: Assist senior engineers in various tasks related to the development and implementation of engineering solutions, with a focus on public transport infrastructure.

Essential Requirements:

  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Civil Engineering.
  • Registered as a Candidate Technician with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) within 3 months of employment.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience.

Preferred Requirements:

Remuneration:

Special Conditions:
