Farm Assistant Position – Bien Donné Research Farm

Position Details:

Location: Western Cape
Employment Type: Full Time
Minimum Education: Grade 10 Certificate
Experience Required: 3 Years (Agricultural Operations)
Field: Agriculture

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute crop management including planting, irrigation, and harvesting
• Conduct orchard and vineyard maintenance (pruning, canopy management, pest monitoring)
• Manage irrigation systems and soil/leaf sample collection
• Supervise casual farm workers
• Maintain farm equipment and infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Support research activities including data collection
• Perform general farm maintenance tasks

Requirements:

• Proven farm operations experience
• Basic literacy and communication skills
• Physical fitness for agricultural work
• Problem-solving ability in farm environments
• Willingness to work overtime when required
