Purpose Statement

• Apply financial crime intelligence techniques to identify and profile syndicated insurance fraud activity.
• Disrupt insurance fraud syndicates by acting on identified financial crime intelligence.

Experience Requirements

Minimum:

• 3+ years’ experience as a Forensic Investigator/Auditor.
• At least 3 years’ experience in financial crime intelligence investigations.
• Experience using investigation tools and performing transactional analysis.

Ideal:

• Experience using advanced investigative tools such as graph databases, SQL, and i2 Analyst Notebook.

Qualifications (Minimum)

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational.

Qualifications (Ideal)

• A relevant qualification in Fraud, Forensics, or Criminal Intelligence.

Key Performance Areas

• Investigate fraudulent activities effectively.
• Generate actionable intelligence on syndicated insurance fraud.
• Conduct thorough syndicated intelligence investigations with accuracy.
• Implement efficient investigative techniques, time management, and prioritisation skills.
• Prepare detailed reports based on investigations.

Knowledge Requirements

Minimum:

• Knowledge of investigation methods and procedures.
• Understanding of the insurance application and claim processes.
• Familiarity with legislation and regulations applicable to fraud in the insurance and banking industry.

Ideal:

• Knowledge of fraud and misrepresentation within the insurance industry.
• Familiarity with Capitec systems (e.g., SBL, Horizon etc.).
• Understanding relevant Capitec Insurance policies.

Skills Required

• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
• Strong negotiation and attention to detail.
• Interpersonal and relationship management abilities.
• Analytical thinking and decision-making skills.

Conditions of Employment

• A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are mandatory.
• Availability to respond to emergencies after hours.
• Clear criminal and credit record is required.
