General Workers – Technical Services Electro-Mechanical (REF: JWGWTSEM/2025)

Position Details

Employment Type: Full Time

Minimum Education: Grade 9 Certificate

Experience Required: 1 year general work experience

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist artisans with electrical maintenance (distribution boards, lighting systems, plugs)
  • Support mechanical maintenance of pumps, motors, valves, and piping systems
  • Perform equipment testing (earth leakage, fire extinguishers, lifting gear)
  • Conduct site cleaning and maintenance (pump stations, reservoirs, workshop areas)
  • Assist with welding repairs and equipment installations
  • Handle material disposal and site preparation for maintenance work

Essential Requirements

  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Physical fitness for manual labor tasks
  • Ability to follow technical instructions
  • Willingness to work with water and wastewater systems
