Purpose of the Role

This role is ideal for a qualified and competent individual who will be responsible for technical design, production, operation, and maintenance services. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and efficiency of essential mechanical components used in infrastructure projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualification: Appropriate Trade Test Certificate (Fitter and Turner)
  • Driver’s License: Valid Code B (or higher)

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on experience in repairing and maintaining spare parts for road construction machinery and vehicles
  • Lathe operation experience in a mechanical workshop environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Design: Create mechanical designs based on client specifications while ensuring feasibility within production capabilities
  • Production Work: Manufacture mechanical components and equipment following job specifications and industry standards
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Inspect, diagnose, and resolve technical faults in machinery and equipment
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain records, compile reports, and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Professional Development: Continuously upgrade skills to keep up with industry advancements and emerging technologies

Salary & Benefits

  • Grade A: R230,898 – R256,263 per annum
  • Grade B: R270,915 – R300,675 per annum
  • Grade C: R314,751 – R386,775 per annum
    (Salary will be determined as per the OSD prescripts)

Note: The remuneration package for this position includes all costs related to service benefits such as a basic salary, 13th cheque, medical and housing assistance, and pension contributions.
