- 3-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social History, Archaeology, or related field
- Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
- Department: Arts & Cultural Services
- License Requirement: Valid Code B driver’s license (Accommodations available for applicants with disabilities)
Key Responsibilities
- Process heritage resource applications under National Heritage Resources Act (NHRA 25/1999)
- Provide expert guidance on archaeology/paleontology-related applications and appeals
- Monitor compliance with heritage conservation policies
- Manage provincial heritage conservation services for development applications
- Coordinate committee secretariat functions
Essential Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in relevant field
- Understanding of heritage legislation and policies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Project management experience
- Conflict resolution skills
