Inspector: Flight Operations – Aerial Works (Midrand)

Job Details:

  • Employment Type: Full Time
  • Education Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate + Commercial/Helicopter/Remote Pilot License
  • Experience: 500+ hours as pilot-in-command (aircraft/helicopter/RPAS)
  • Location: Midrand, Gauteng
  • Department: Aviation Operations

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Oversight:

  • Conduct airport/airline facility inspections (aprons, stations, base operations)
  • Evaluate safety management systems (SMS) effectiveness
  • Monitor regulatory compliance and document accuracy
  • Investigate potential aviation regulation violations

Safety & Standards:

  • Develop recommendations for operational improvements
  • Research and propose updated aviation standards
  • Promote aviation safety best practices

Professional Development:

  • Maintain current knowledge of aviation technology and human factors
  • Stay updated on meteorological systems and training methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in relevant field
  • 3+ years operational experience with aircraft/helicopters/RPAS
  • Technical training with flight simulation devices
  • Meteorology/climatology expertise
