Agricultural Research Council (ARC) Internship Opportunity

Position: Interns x2 – GI Microbiology and Biotechnology

Location: Irene, Gauteng
Contract Type: 3-Year Fixed Term
Vision: “Excellence in Agricultural Research and Development”

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Project Manager to develop and execute technical project plans
• Conduct field sample collection and maintain data quality control protocols
• Perform laboratory analyses including culturing, DNA extraction, and ELISA assays
• Assist with procurement processes and inventory management
• Prepare detailed technical reports and present research findings
• Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities
• Participate in scientific meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions
• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations

Requirements:

• BSc Honours in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Genetics or related field
• OR BSc/BTech degree with 1 year relevant experience
• Must include academic transcripts with application
• South African citizenship required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver’s license preferred
