The Gauteng Office of the Premier is excited to announce an opening for two internship positions in the Directorate of Strategic Operational Support. This internship offers a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates in public management, administration, and social sciences with a focus on monitoring, evaluation, or auditing to gain practical experience in the public sector.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:

  • Possession of a National Diploma, BA Degree, BCom, BTech, Honors, or Master’s degree in Public Management, Administration, Social Sciences with a focus on Monitoring & Evaluation, or Auditing.
  • Candidates must be South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
  • Applicants must be residents of Gauteng Province.
  • Applicants must be unemployed graduates who have not previously participated in a government internship program.
  • Candidates should have completed their academic studies and require experiential training to meet their qualification requirements.

Internship Responsibilities:

Interns will be expected to complete various tasks related to strategic operational support within the department. This may involve assisting with monitoring and evaluation processes, supporting auditing initiatives, and contributing to the general operations of the Directorate. The role offers a great opportunity for graduates to gain firsthand experience in public sector administration and operational strategies.

About the Internship Programme:

The 2025 Internship Programme is designed to offer graduates an opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience over a two-year period. This programme is particularly aimed at those who have completed their undergraduate or post-graduate studies by the end of the 2024 academic year. Interns will be given continuous support in a professional and developmental environment, enabling them to build on their academic knowledge and acquire relevant skills for their careers.
