eThekwini Municipality, located in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking a skilled Draughtsperson to join its Water and Sanitation Engineering Department. Job Purpose:
The Draughtsperson will be responsible for applying technical draughting procedures to produce accurate plans and drawings for water and wastewater projects. The role involves utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and other relevant software to create detailed technical drawings, ensuring that all specifications and requirements are met efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather technical information and specifications for inclusion in water and wastewater-related drawings.
- Apply technical draughting techniques and principles to develop accurate plans and designs.
- Update and maintain technical records and drawings in line with project specifications.
- Ensure drawings meet the required standards and project goals.
Key Competencies:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Understanding of construction technology and graphic communication.
- Proficient in CAD and related technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and planning abilities.
- Customer-focused with an orientation toward service delivery.
Essential Requirements:
- Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Architectural Draughting or related field.
- 2 years of relevant experience in draughting.
- Valid driver’s license and computer literacy.
Preferred Requirements:
- 3 years of relevant experience in draughting.
