eThekwini Municipality is seeking to hire a Principal Clerk to join its Revenue Protection Branch in the Customer Services and Sales Department. This is a permanent, full-time position based in eThekwini, KwaZulu-Natal. The role involves providing essential clerical and administrative services to support the efficient operation of the Revenue Protection Branch.
Key Responsibilities:
The Principal Clerk will provide assistance to the Administration Assistant and ensure smooth communication by addressing telephonic inquiries and counter queries related to revenue protection matters. They will be responsible for compiling lists of required audits from completed work, capturing feedback from site inspections, and processing complaint forms both manually and electronically. The role also includes checking meter details and consumption patterns in the relevant computer systems and capturing necessary data related to meter changes, including the allocation of meters to workshops or connections.
In addition, the Principal Clerk will handle various administrative tasks such as processing requisitions and raising/reversing estimated charges and other related fees.
Essential Competencies:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and a high level of professionalism. They should have experience in problem-solving, data processing and analysis, and using technology efficiently. A service delivery and customer-oriented mindset is crucial for addressing client inquiries and concerns.
Requirements:
- Essential:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Computer literacy
- Preferred:
- Administrative certificate
- Valid motor vehicle driving license
- 3 years of relevant experience
