FlySafair, one of South Africa’s leading airlines, is looking for a Lost Property Administrator to join its Head Office in Johannesburg. This vital role will help manage and track lost passenger items, ensuring that valuable belongings are returned to their rightful owners efficiently. Reporting to the Manager: Customer Care Centre, the ideal candidate will be responsible for handling, documenting, and organizing lost and found items while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Lost Property Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and organized lost property process. Your duties will include:
- Lost Property Management: Collecting, sorting, and categorizing lost items from FlySafair stations based on their loss date.
- Item Identification & Return: Tracking and identifying owners of lost items, including passports and identification documents, and coordinating their return.
- Passenger Assistance: Assisting customers with lost property queries and ensuring a seamless process for retrieving their belongings.
- Liaison & Coordination: Collaborating with airports, security teams, couriers, and relevant authorities to manage lost and found items.
- Administrative Duties: Keeping detailed records of lost property, preparing monthly reports, and ensuring compliance with FlySafair’s policies.
- Charity Coordination: Organizing and managing donation drives for unclaimed items in partnership with the Customer Care Centre Manager.
- Staff Training: Assisting in training staff at other stations on proper lost property handling procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification (Essential).
- 1–3 years of experience in Warehousing, Contact Centres, or a similar environment (Essential).
- Valid driver’s license (Essential).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Basic understanding of warehouse principles.
