FlySafair, a leading name in the aviation industry, is currently seeking a Production Inspector to join its team at the Head Office. This role is a vital component of the company’s commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence. Reporting to the Manager: Flight Line & SVM, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all maintenance and inspection procedures align with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations and Safair operational manuals.
Key Responsibilities:
The Production Inspector will be responsible for monitoring maintenance activities, conducting random inspections, and ensuring the compliance of installed and removed aircraft parts with CAA and Safair guidelines. Some of the key duties include:
- Aircraft Inspection & Compliance: Conducting technical inspections and verifying traceability, labeling, and documentation of aircraft components.
- Quality Assurance Audits: Performing random checks on tools, equipment, and precision test instruments to ensure compliance with CAA and Safair standards.
- Airworthiness Monitoring: Certifying aircraft readiness and ensuring proper scrapping of parts according to company policies.
- Safety & Reporting: Identifying and documenting any safety concerns, hazards, or unairworthy conditions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Performing detailed audits of maintenance paperwork, ramp inspections, and ensuring adherence to aviation safety protocols.
Qualifications & Experience:
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
- Trade Certificate as an Aircraft Technician (Essential).
- AME License on B737-400 and B737-800 (Advantageous).
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in aircraft maintenance (Essential).
- Experience with electronic maintenance tracking programs such as SAM/Flow Centric.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours in a 24-hour operational environment.
