Life Chatsmed Garden Hospital is offering an exciting opportunity for a Finance and Administration Manager to join their team. Reporting directly to the Hospital Manager, Tanweer Ansari, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the hospital’s financial performance, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, corporate governance protocols, and supporting Life Healthcare’s overall objectives and strategy. This role requires a dynamic leader to drive financial efficiency, compliance, and the continuous improvement of hospital operations.

Key Responsibilities

As the Finance and Administration Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial stability and operational success of Life Chatsmed Garden Hospital. Your responsibilities will include:

  • People Management
    Demonstrating visible leadership by promoting Life Healthcare’s values and strategies, you will lead and motivate staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. You will actively participate in hospital and regional management meetings, sponsor hospital initiatives, and oversee the effective management of departmental and team feedback meetings to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
    You will review monthly reconciliations and manage the general ledger, ensuring timely adjustments and accurate reporting. By preparing variance reports, comparing performance against budget and previous years, you will identify potential issues and implement corrective measures in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Budgeting and Financial Planning
    Participate in strategic planning sessions, particularly around Capex projects, and assist in developing financial models and budget proposals. You will be responsible for preparing operating and working capital budgets, ensuring that they align with approved parameters, and communicating the finalized budgets to all relevant units.
  • Internal Control Management
    As a key part of financial governance, you will prepare annual review checklists and manage the internal control environment to ensure compliance with corporate protocols.
  • Patient Services and Credit Management
    Ensure that credit management targets, such as internal and external debtor days, are met. You will be responsible for managing risks related to bad debts, case write-offs, and reimbursement codes, while also monitoring pre-admission trends with the relevant managers.
  • Governance and Risk Management
    Oversee compliance with corporate governance standards and take corrective actions when deviations occur, ensuring the hospital remains aligned with Life Healthcare’s executive constraints.
  • Quality and Customer Relations
    Lead quality improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to high standards. You will work on maintaining data integrity, improving processes, and fostering strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Regular feedback surveys will allow you to assess service levels and implement necessary improvements.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with completed Articles (CA(SA) preferred).
  • Relevant experience in commercial management, ideally within a corporate services environment.
  • A solid understanding of healthcare terminology will be beneficial, though the ability to quickly learn industry-specific knowledge is essential.
  • Strong computer proficiency is required to perform various functions of the role.
