About Us
The Road Accident Fund is a statutory insurer providing compulsory cover to all South African motorists for injuries/deaths from traffic collisions. We operate under Parliamentary oversight with a national footprint.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Risk Leadership
- Develop enterprise risk policies aligned with King IV and NT frameworks
- Coordinate risk workshops with executive leadership and Board members
- Design strategic risk registers and mitigation implementation plans
- Evaluate risk management software solutions
Operational Excellence
- Monitor risk mitigation progress across business units
- Maintain control breakdown register with corrective tracking
- Prepare quarterly RMEC reports and RMC presentations
- Conduct project risk assessments for major initiatives
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure PFMA compliance in risk processes
- Prepare annual risk disclosures for financial reports
- Update policies per legislative changes
Team Leadership
- Manage departmental budget up to R3.5M
- Develop risk management training programs
- Lead team of 5 risk analysts
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management/Commerce (NQF 7)
- Postgraduate qualification (advantageous)
- Certification in COSO/ISO 31000 (preferred)
- Valid Code B driver’s license
