About Us

The Road Accident Fund is a statutory insurer providing compulsory cover to all South African motorists for injuries/deaths from traffic collisions. We operate under Parliamentary oversight with a national footprint.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Risk Leadership

• Develop enterprise risk policies aligned with King IV and NT frameworks
• Coordinate risk workshops with executive leadership and Board members
• Design strategic risk registers and mitigation implementation plans
• Evaluate risk management software solutions

Operational Excellence

• Monitor risk mitigation progress across business units
• Maintain control breakdown register with corrective tracking
• Prepare quarterly RMEC reports and RMC presentations
• Conduct project risk assessments for major initiatives

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure PFMA compliance in risk processes
• Prepare annual risk disclosures for financial reports
• Update policies per legislative changes

Team Leadership

• Manage departmental budget up to R3.5M
• Develop risk management training programs
• Lead team of 5 risk analysts

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management/Commerce (NQF 7)
• Postgraduate qualification (advantageous)
• Certification in COSO/ISO 31000 (preferred)
• Valid Code B driver’s license
