Minimum Educational Qualification
- Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
Experience
- Grade 1: None after registration as a Medical Practitioner with the HPCSA for South African qualified employees. One year of relevant experience after registration with a recognized foreign Health Professional Council for foreign qualified employees who do not need to complete Community Service as required in South Africa.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience as a Medical Practitioner after registration with the HPCSA for South African qualified employees. A minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience after registration with a recognized foreign Health Professional Council for foreign qualified employees who do not need to complete Community Service as required in South Africa.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience as a Medical Practitioner after registration with the HPCSA for South African qualified employees. A minimum of 11 years’ relevant experience after registration with a recognized foreign Health Professional Council for foreign qualified employees who do not need to complete Community Service as required in South Africa.
Duties (Key Result Areas/Outputs)
- Provide clinical services, including management of all TB patients, referrals, admissions, and new patients.
- Interact and cooperate with colleagues and other health services.
- Liaise with clinics, hospitals, and other health services.
- Ensure cost-effective and safe use of drugs.
- Provide support to the Head of Department.
- Participate in departmental activities and meetings.
- Undertake general administrative tasks and tasks delegated by the Head of Department.
- Serve on delegated committees and participate in operational research.
