Reliable & Efficient Deliveries: The Role of a Motorbike Driver in Goodwood

Alert Engine Parts is looking for a dedicated and responsible Motorbike Driver to join its Goodwood branch in Cape Town. This role is vital to ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods, maintaining high standards of customer service, and adhering to company procedures. The ideal candidate must have a valid motorcycle license, delivery experience, and a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance

• Conduct pre-departure and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Submit inspection reports to the Dispatch Supervisor every Monday.
• Report any vehicle issues immediately before leaving the premises.
• Ensure the motorbike is clean and well-maintained.

Parcel Handling & Delivery

• Check parcels with the runner/supervisor before loading.
• Follow the New Dispatch Loading procedure.
• Deliver parcels according to the designated route and trip sheet.
• Ensure customers follow the Proof of Delivery (POD) procedure.
• Adhere to the Returned For Credit (RFC) procedure.
• Deliver and collect all required documents and collection slips.

Documentation & Accountability

• Sign trip sheets at the POD clerk’s office daily.
• Ensure that all assigned documents are returned the next day.
• Take full responsibility for any missing trip sheets and related claims.
• No stock transfers between customer shops.

Problem-Solving & Reporting

• Report any issues with deliveries or PODs to the Dispatch Supervisor.
• Address any delivery concerns in a timely manner.
• Perform additional reasonable tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Minimum 3 years of delivery experience.
• Valid motorcycle license.

• Excellent time management and ability to meet delivery schedules.
• Strong communication skills with customers and team members.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple deliveries efficiently.
• Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented.
• Sober habits and a clear criminal record.
