Job Purpose:

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Artisan Plumber to join our team in Durban. This role involves overseeing and coordinating specialized plumbing tasks, from organizing materials and issuing instructions to performing maintenance and repairs on water supply and control systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, fault finding, and restoring the functionality of water systems, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pre-Work Coordination: Interpret and coordinate site requirements for installation, repair, and maintenance tasks, and guide personnel throughout the process.
• Damage Prevention: Ensure the safe handling of water mains, taking care not to damage surrounding voltage cables and optic fiber cables.
• Safety Compliance: Monitor adherence to safety rules and procedures, inspect the condition of vehicles, equipment, plant, and tools, and address any deviations or breaches in standards.
• Documentation: Complete internal procedural documentation, including timesheets, log sheets, progress reports, and vehicle checklists, ensuring accurate information is recorded.
• Troubleshooting & Fault Finding: Coordinate activities related to troubleshooting and identifying reasons for disruptions in the water supply.
• Repairs & Restorations: Lead efforts to repair and restore the functionality of water systems and components, ensuring minimal disruption to services.

Essential Requirements:

• Trade-Tested Artisan (Plumber).
• Valid Basic First Aid and Basic Safety Certificate (or the ability to complete within 6-12 months of appointment).
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• At least 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience.

Preferred Requirements:

• 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
