Your Responsibilities

  1. Trade Management
    • Balance management of CSU (Customer Service Units), ensuring effective physical, hybrid, and remote coverage.
    • Maintain high levels of digital engagement within remote markets, using our back-office team and digital tools to track and optimize performance.
    • Lead and oversee call frequencies in hybrid models, ensuring commercial initiatives are well-executed and meet business needs.
    • Engage with store owners, managers, and staff to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and drive device sales through education and activation.
  2. Physical Universe Management
    • Forecast coverage frequency, identify key brand staging opportunities, and ensure investments in Point of Sale Materials (POSM).
    • Drive brand growth by negotiating staging opportunities and executing brand cycles that support the growth of PMI’s portfolio.
    • Continuously educate retail partners, closing knowledge gaps and ensuring they understand Reduced Risk Products (RRP) and PMI brands.
    • Host retail activations where necessary, fostering product trial and increasing brand visibility within the territory.
  3. Digital Universe Expansion
    • Schedule and conduct both physical and virtual visits to digital stores, ensuring that segmentation and frequency align with market needs.
    • Identify opportunities for growth in digital distribution and provide ongoing strategic support to achieve digital business goals.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize Digital Trade Engagement (DTE) success and bridge gaps in store understanding.
  4. Third-Party Coordination
    • Manage third-party field teams to ensure service delivery is aligned with PMI’s objectives.
    • Work with third-party Field Managers to ensure the correct execution of cycles and point-of-sale material compliance.
    • Assess third-party performance and recommend improvements to strengthen IMS performance and in-store presence.
  5. Sales Information & Reporting
    • Capture and analyze sales data through field force tracking tools to identify opportunities for improvement and align actions with territory goals.
    • Provide management with detailed market feedback, helping shape strategic decisions and future initiatives.
    • Use market insights to forecast trends, predict future opportunities, and plan accordingly.
  6. Trade Engagement & Education
    • Manage trade programs, ensuring store compliance and full understanding of promotional mechanics.
    • Train trade partners to effectively communicate PMI’s brand values and products to consumers, helping them to increase sales and facilitate brand switch-overs.
  7. Compliance & Legal Adherence
    • Stay informed of the legal requirements governing the sale of tobacco and RRPs, ensuring all activities comply with local and international regulations.
    • Uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency in all interactions, contributing to PMI’s long-term sustainability.

Who We’re Looking For

We seek individuals with the following qualifications and experience:

  • A completed Matric (high school education)
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field
  • At least 3 years of sales experience, preferably within FMCG or the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong experience with digital tools, such as POS systems and sales mobile applications
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
