Your Role in PMI’s Transformation

Key Responsibilities

  1. Trade Management
    • Oversee the balanced management of CSU (Customer Service Units), ensuring a mix of physical, hybrid, and remote coverage to meet diverse market needs.
    • Leverage digital tools and back-office support to maintain engagement and performance across remote bases.
    • Drive commercial initiatives with regular customer interactions, ensuring efficient execution and follow-through on business requirements.
    • Lead efforts to educate retail partners about Reduced Risk Products (RRP), generating leads, activating B2C campaigns, and driving device sales.
  2. Physical Universe Strategy
    • Manage market segmentation, defining coverage frequency, brand staging, and investment in Point of Sale Materials (POSM).
    • Accelerate brand growth by negotiating staging opportunities and executing marketing cycles that support product visibility.
    • Train and educate store owners, managers, and staff to close knowledge gaps regarding RRPs, ensuring consistent understanding and execution.
    • Organize retail activations and events to build awareness of the RRP category and engage consumers directly.
  3. Digital Universe Development
    • Schedule physical and virtual store visits to ensure consistent engagement based on market segmentation and store needs.
    • Analyze the digital base for growth opportunities, aiming for increased distribution and market share.
    • Collaborate with teams to enhance Digital Trade Engagement (DTE), aligning with business objectives to ensure high response rates and success.
    • Assess and close understanding gaps in digital stores, working closely with DTE teams to enhance strategies.
  4. Third-Party Partnerships
    • Manage third-party field teams to ensure service delivery aligns with business objectives and expectations.
    • Oversee compliance with cycle requirements and POS material usage, ensuring 100% coverage of key stores by third-party teams.
    • Monitor third-party performance, recommending improvements to optimize in-store presence and sales effectiveness.
  5. Sales Data & Reporting
    • Ensure accurate data capture and analysis using field force tracking tools to identify areas for improvement.
    • Analyze sales cycle results and develop action plans to achieve territory objectives.
    • Provide regular feedback to management about market activities, trends, and competitive insights to inform strategic decisions.
  6. Trade Engagement & Education
    • Manage trade programs, ensuring proper execution of promotional cycles and compliance with trade mechanics.
    • Educate retail partners about PMI brands and products, ensuring they can effectively communicate the value to customers and support brand switching.
  7. Compliance and Legal Framework
    • Maintain a strong understanding of the legal landscape for tobacco and RRP products, ensuring all activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Uphold the highest ethical standards in all business interactions, supporting PMI’s commitment to sustainability and long-term success.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for individuals with:

  • A completed Matric (high school diploma) and relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience.
  • A valid driver’s license with at least 12 months of experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years in sales within FMCG or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Proven experience in independently managing projects and leading teams or processes.
  • Familiarity with digital tools like POS systems, mobile sales apps, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong command of the English language.
