eThekwini Municipality in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, is seeking a highly organized and dedicated individual to fill the position of Principal Clerk within the Cleansing and Solid Waste Unit. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient management of waste and waste volume audits in various regions.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, the Principal Clerk will play a crucial part in supporting waste management initiatives, focusing on waste volume audits. Responsibilities include:
- Promoting effective waste stream management across the municipality.
- Assisting Area Cleansing Officers with the auditing of waste volumes to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
- Conducting refuse bin audits to ensure accuracy in waste management reporting.
- Educating and training staff on quality customer service and productivity within the waste management sector.
- Supporting management with research and data collection to enhance waste management processes and operational efficiency.

Requirements
Candidates must meet the following essential and preferred qualifications:
- Essential:
- A Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification.
- A valid motor vehicle driving license.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in waste management or a related field.
- Computer literacy is required.
- Preferred:
- A Grade 12 certificate with an Administrative Certificate.
- 3 years of relevant experience in waste management audits or clerical support.

Remuneration
The position offers a competitive salary package ranging from R 218,077.44 to R 283,086.84 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
