The Western Cape Department of Agriculture is seeking a highly organized and competent Supply Chain Management Clerk to join their Procurement team at Elsenburg. This permanent position offers the chance to become part of the team responsible for ensuring cost-effective, efficient, and effective procurement services for the department.
Key Responsibilities
As a Supply Chain Management Clerk, your role will include:
✔ Administering requisitions for procurement of goods and services.
✔ Managing ledger and order administration and distributing documents efficiently.
✔ Providing office administration and end-user service delivery.
✔ Overseeing asset management and ensuring accountability for all resources.
✔ Implementing the Accounting Officer System and related legislation for the department.
Minimum Requirements
📌 Educational Qualification:
✔ Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or equivalent qualification.
📌 Experience:
✔ Relevant experience in Supply Chain Management or Public Procurement is highly recommended.
✔ Familiarity with Computer-Based Procurement Systems is desirable.
📌 Additional Requirements:
✔ Valid Code B Driver’s License (Applicants with disabilities that restrict driving may apply if they have reasonable access to transport).
Preferred Skills & Competencies
🔹 Knowledge of office and general administration.
🔹 Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
🔹 Strong written and verbal communication skills.
🔹 Excellent planning, organizing, and interpersonal skills.
🔹 Basic analytical, numeric, and critical thinking abilities.
Salary & Benefits
💰 Remuneration: R216,417 – R254,928 per annum (Salary Level 5)
