The Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS) operates under the Community Scheme Ombud Service Act (2011) to regulate community schemes and promote good governance. Established in October 2016, we ensure fair conduct within housing communities, sectional titles, and similar schemes.

Position Details

• Job Type: Full Time
• Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (Master’s preferred)
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in legal/document drafting roles
• Location: Centurion, Gauteng
• Field: Legal/Dispute Resolution

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct legal analysis of adjudication orders to ensure compliance with CSOS standards
• Verify proper application of legislation and case law in dispute resolutions
• Assess adherence to prescribed templates and legal formatting requirements
• Issue Quality Assurance Certificates within specified timelines
• Identify and document compliance gaps for adjudicator feedback

Requirements

• Proven experience in legal document preparation and review
• Expertise in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms
• Thorough knowledge of:
  • Community Schemes Ombud Service Act
  • Sectional Titles Management Act
  • Companies Act & Cooperative Act
• Advanced legal research and analytical capabilities
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
