Position Overview

We seek a qualified Researcher to lead analytical chemistry projects, drive innovation, and contribute to agricultural research advancements at our Roodeplaat facility.

Key Responsibilities

Research Leadership:

  • Design and execute chemical analysis projects using LC-MS, GC-MS, and related techniques
  • Develop new methods for plant extract analysis and compound identification
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation

Collaboration & Development:

  • Supervise students and junior researchers
  • Establish partnerships with academic and industry stakeholders
  • Secure research funding through grant proposals

Service Delivery:

  • Provide analytical services to internal/external clients
  • Maintain advanced laboratory equipment
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards

Requirements

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in plant compound analysis
  • Proven track record in:
    • Scientific publications (minimum 3 peer-reviewed articles)
    • Research project management
    • External funding acquisition
  • Expertise in chromatographic techniques (LC-MS/GC-MS)
  • Valid driver’s license
