About the Role

Rheinmetall is looking for a motivated Analytical Chemist Intern to support our laboratory operations. You will work closely with the production team to perform routine and non‑routine chemical analyses that keep our manufacturing processes running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and non‑routine laboratory analyses to support continuous production.
• Assist with basic laboratory administration and maintain clear communication with plant personnel.
• Follow all quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and manage waste responsibly.
• Support calibration and verification of laboratory equipment.
• Interpret analytical data and prepare concise reports.
• Liaise with suppliers when required.
• Ensure the laboratory complies with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and ISO 17025 standards.
• Adhere to Rheinmetall Denel Munitions policies and procedures, especially those related to SHE, quality, environment, and energy.

Qualifications & Skills

• BTech or BSc in Analytical Chemistry, or an NQF 7 equivalent qualification.
• Strong ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated, independent, and able to work effectively in a team.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications.
• Good planning abilities and a focus on accuracy.
