About the Role
We are seeking a motivated intern to support our Process Engineering team. The intern will help with the administration of continuous improvement projects, assist in new product development, and contribute to the creation and updating of manufacturing documentation.
- Assist with the administration of Site Continuous Improvement Initiatives (CII) projects.
- Support the Process Engineer in new product development when needed.
- Help develop and update Facility Operating Instructions and Product Manufacturing Instructions.
- Participate in planning and execution of CAPEX and OPEX projects.
- Provide manufacturing support, including process and quality failure investigations, technical support for modifications, and risk assessments.
- Work with the Process Engineering Manager to develop and implement a Process Safety Management system covering all 18 required elements.
- Follow Rheinmetall Denel Munitions policies and ensure compliance with ISO standards for safety, health, environment, quality, and energy.
Qualifications
- BEng, BSc or BTech in Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical thinker with good problem‑solving abilities for multidisciplinary projects.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and value‑stream mapping.
- Solid understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and manage time efficiently.
