Position: Risk and Safety Coordinator

Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape
Type: Full-Time
Experience: 5+ years
Education: National Diploma/Degree in SHEQ or related field

Core Responsibilities

Risk Management

  • Partner with teams to identify operational and project risks
  • Maintain updated risk registers and mitigation strategies
  • Conduct organization-wide risk assessment workshops

Safety & Environmental Leadership

  • Develop safety programs aligned with local/national regulations
  • Conduct site inspections and equipment safety audits
  • Investigate incidents and implement preventive measures
  • Deliver safety training for diverse teams

Compliance & Reporting

  • Monitor adherence to safety/environmental laws in multiple countries
  • Prepare risk exposure reports for leadership team
  • Maintain assurance documentation

Candidate Requirements

  • 5+ years safety experience (conservation/agriculture preferred)
  • Certification in First Aid/Occupational Health
  • Proven skills in data analysis and technical reporting
  • Strong workshop facilitation capabilities
  • 40% regional travel requirement
  • Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel/PowerPoint)
